You can turn it off on a per-game basis as well. You can turn off just the desktop configuration under Settings->BaseConfiguration->Desktop->Browse->Disabled->Apply though the default is the disable configuration for anything other than a Steam Controller. You can turn the setting off globally under BPM->Settings->ControllerSettings->Xbox Configuration Support. The only time you cannot turn this off is while streaming - since the controller isn't actually connected to the remote device. I am irate with this stupid idiotic feature that you can't turn off.
